ABOUT IQAC

            As per the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) guidelines every accredited institution should establish its own IQAC. (IQAC stands for Internal Quality Assurance Cell, which is an internal mechanism in the Institution aimed at improving the quality of Education and overall Institutional performance) IQAC is to organize and streamline the college’s endeavor’s and strategies to promote quality initiatives across all aspects of the institution.

NAAC point of view

               In pursuance of the National Action Plan of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up gradation of institutions of higher education, the NAAC proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post - accreditation quality sustenance measure.

              In our college established Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)  6 January 2020. IQAC committee has been formed and approved by the governing body to take care of Quality assurance strategies and processes. Various policies related to quality education and infrastructural development are created and executed through IQAC. Our IQAC is a full functioning body.

              SSR college is committed to continually improve the infrastructure, enhance the faculty competencies and empower the students to self-learning. The IQAC enables the college to focus on this mission. Parameters related to the enhancing of the quality of the institution like workshops, conferences, FDP’s, paper publications, innovations in teaching and more are considered after the approval of IQAC Committee.

              In pursuance Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment and quality up-gradation of college, the meetings of IQAC has been conducted periodically and minutes of meetings are well maintained.

              Since quality strengthening is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the college system and work towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime function of the IQAC is to develop a system for continuous, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the college.

ROLE OF IQAC

IQAC plays a crucial role in connecting and coordinating the various bodies in the college especially in the matters related to the teaching- learning process in the college. It functions as an umbrella organ engaging and interacting with all the other systems in materializing its goals and objectives.

The college policies with regard to quality assurance are as follows -

·       Cultivate and enhance the quality of teaching, learning, evaluation and infrastructure

·       Initiate, plan and supervise various activities that are necessary to increase the quality of the   education imparted in the college

·       Transferring of quality education to the masses from the society catering to their diverse needs and fostering global competence among them

·       ICT enabled teaching and learning process

·       Promotes research activity

·       Faculty empowerment through workshops/seminars/conferences

·       Quality feedback system

·        Performance appraisal system  

Goals of IQAC

The primary goals of IQAC are-

·       Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is to build and ensure a quality culture at the institutional level.

·       The IQAC is meant to plan, guide, and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the institution.

·       The IQAC shall not be a record-keeping cell but shall channelize and systematize the effort to pull the institution in the path of academic excellence.

·       The IQAC should become a driving force for ushering in quality by working out intervention strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality.

Objective of IQAC

·       The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.

·       IQAC will facilitate / contribute

·       To promote the quality enhancement and integration among the various activities of the college and to establish many good practices.

·       To heightened level of clarity and focus in college functioning towards quality enhancement and facilitate internalization of the quality culture.

·       To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the college.

·       To provide a sound basis for decision making to improve college functioning.

Vision of IQAC

            The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), established in accordance to NAAC guidelines, aim to work towards quality sustenance and enhancement of the academic and administrative performance of the Institution.

Mission of IQAC

·       Designing outcome-based curriculum.

·       Embracing modern pedagogy to foster and participative learning experiences for students.

·       Promoting quality focused research.

·       Linking industry through MoUs, Collaborative activities, faculty/students exchange programmes.

·       Monitoring and assessing the progress of the institution. Developing a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the performance of its principal stakeholders, that is staff and students of the Institution.

·       Promoting innovative practices that continually improves the effectiveness of the learning experiences of students/staff.

·       Upholding the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance towards organizing various activities and programmes on the Campus.

·       Promoting a learner centric environment for students and staff that fosters the mission and vision of the Institution.

Functions of IQAC

·       Development and application of quality benchmarks / parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution.

·       Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education.

·       Organization of workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.

·       Documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement.

·       Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC based on the quality parameters.

·       Organizing orientation programmes for the Staff and the Administrative Staff.

·       Administering Feedback Mechanism for the College.

Strategies of IQAC

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for:

·       Ensuring timely, efficient, and progressive performance of academic, administrative, and financial tasks.

·       Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching, learning and evaluation.

·       Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure.
