B.A.Plain-C028 (History)
1. The NEP2020 History syllabus has been formed by keeping in mind
success of the students in ideological, cultural, anthropological and socio political development. The syllabus is a wonderful treasure house of
information and can offer guidance for the solution to all human problems
pertaining to science and art, language and literature, social and political
life, philosophical and political life, philosophical speculation and
economic development.
2. The students understand the value of the dependence and interdependence
of nations which is the root of the inter nationalism. It is very extensive and
wide. Through the survey of the syllabus the young learners will come to
realize that although different people had and still have different customs,
habits, laws, and institution, they have been striving towards the same end.
3. After completing the whole syllabus, the students will be able to-
• Clarify facts, events, terms and concepts etc.
• Compare and contrast the events, trends and concepts etc.
• Interpret maps, charts etc.
• Identify problems, analyse problems, collect evidence, and draw
conclusions. This grounding in the subject equip them to pursue
higher studies and research.
• The course provides the students with a set of transferable skills
that are applicable to a wide range of courses such as publishing
journalism and media, museums, archives work, librarianship,
teaching work in the development sector global charity work etc.

Upon completion of Master of Arts (History) Students should be able to-
• Identify and define basic terms and concepts which are needed for advanced
course in History.
• Independent judgment, intercultural and regional Sensitivity, global and
national perspectives to solve problems concerning Humanities.
• Integrate knowledge of Indian and Ancient History.
• Develop information, interviewing and networking skills through reading
handed out in class and an examination exercise.
The following are the learning outcomes that we would like to see each History
student with.
• Understanding of the historical method of study.
• A clear understanding of evidence collected from historical sources.
• Critical understanding of developments in historiography.
• Knowledge of the history of the India and 20th Century Modern World.
• Informed familiarity with multiplecultures and diversity.
• Awareness of current historical debates.
• Understand the skills that historians use in research.
